   Roman Forum

   Once back outside the Colosseum you see the splendid Arch of Constantine and then take a short walk to the Forum, Ancient Rome’s main square and the hub of all activity, religious, political and social. Here there are the ruins of many wonderful buildings of the Temple of Julius Caesar built over the spot where he was cremated, the Arch of Titus, the House of the Vestal Virgins, the Senate House and the Basilica of Mexentius to name a few

   Vittoriano e Palazzo Venezia

   You then proceed to Piazza Venezia with its famous white marble monument, Il Vittoriana, built in 1885 as a commemoration to King Victor Emmanuel II and lovingly called “The Wedding Cake” by the local population.
