It is most famous for its perfectly intact, medieval city walls, which are a marvelous place to go for a walk or bike ride. During your free time in Lucca, be sure to check out Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, a glorious, historic square with local restaurants. For panoramic views of the city and beyond, head to the Guinigi Tower and its unique rooftop garden. Lucca is also known as the “City of 100 Churches,” so there are plenty of beautiful and intricate churches waiting to be discovered!
