   We would stop at the station cable car (in Montserrat Mountain) which is another way to go up to the Monastery by passing the Llobregat river to reach an altitude of nearly 4000 feet. This cable car started to work in 1930 and there are just 2 cabins that are working with a speed of 5 meters per second ( Cable Care ticket is not included).

   Another reason that Montserrat is listed in the top five attractions list of day trips from Barcelona is the existence of the statue of our lady Of Montserrat (Black Madonna) in the basilica which the Monastery of Montserrat has been built all around the statue.

   It is one of the most famous Black Madonna in the world and its believed that originally carved in Jerusalem in the first century. For visiting the statue and feeling it’s an undeniable spiritual power, we are going inside the church and you can look at Black Madonna from the nearest place that is possible, during your visiting time.

   Sant Jeroni is the highest peak (near 4000 feets ) in Montserrat Mountain .

   You can see a lot of rock formations and enjoyed with the views . if you like to go to Sant Geroni you should take a funicular the sant joan which take you up in the middle way to Sant Jeroni and over there you have great top view also to the Monastery area . In your Free time you can try this Funicular with its spectacular view .
