   Castle of the Moors

   We visit the historic Mourish Castle at the top of one of Sintra hills where on a clear day you can have fantastic views of the town and see as far out towards the Atlantic Ocean and even past Lisbon.

   Here we will wonder through the beautiful little historic town of Sintra where once Kings and Queens stayed at the National Palace of Sintra overlooking the town.

   Monserrate Palace

   Enjoy one of the less visited palaces of Sintra, located on the outskirts of the town of Sintra, hidden within the hills and nature, where you can truly experience why Sintra was considered the capital of Romanticism in the 19th century. A lovely private palace built in the mid 19th century with a mixture of Indian and Arabic architecture.

   Cabo da Roca

   We finish the day with a scenic last stop at the most western point of mainland Europe - Cabo da Roca. Located at 140m above sea level where the waves crash at the bottom of the cliffs. It was the last place the Portuguese navigators saw before the headed into the Atlantic Ocean on their journeys.

• Part of the time during the tour is spent on travel time. If you are based in Lisbon, it will take about an hour to get to the Mourish Castle. From there to the historic centre is normally a short 5-10 minute drive unless there is traffic. From the Historic Centre to Monserrate Palace it is approximately 15 minutes drive. From Monserrate Palace to Cabo da Roca is approximately 20 minutes. And from Cabo da Roca back to Lisbon can take about an hour.
