Become a shipmate and join the crew aboard the epic quest known as Portugal’s Age of Discoveries, a seafaring adventure that brought new worlds to the world. Arriving at Belém, we will stop at the famous pastry of the Belém Custard Tarts, in addition to the emblematic Padrão dos Descobrimentos, two monuments that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Jerónimos Monastery and the Belém Tower. These are the prominent landmarks of the Maritime Discoveries period. A large part of this area cannot be covered by tram 15 or tourist buses. Everything you can do with us in 1h30/2h00 by yourself will take at least 1 day without being able to complement our explanations and enjoy our company.
The avenue was built between 1879 and 1886 in the image of the boulevards of Paris. Its creation was a milestone in the city's expansion to the north and quickly became a reference for the wealthier classes to locate their homes there. Today, this avenue still contains very interesting buildings from an artistic and architectural point of view, especially from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
