   St. Peter's Basilica

   Continuing on through the St.Peter's Basilica, you will marvel at the masterpieces of Bernini's Canopy (the largest bronze object in the world) and at the awe-inspiring Pietà Michelangelo's masterpiece. During the Vatican City Private Tour you walk below the Basilica, through dimly-lit tunnels towards, our guide will indicate you the Vatican Grottoes, the resting place of many popes,  and you will also, individually have the chance to stop by the tomb of Pope John Paul II.

• On Wednesday, due to the weekly Papal Audience, and on religious ceremony there is a possibility that St Peter's Basilica will be unavailable during which the access to St Peter's Basilica is closed.
• Meet your tour coordinator in the middle of Piazza del Risorgimento (400m from Metro A Line, Ottaviano metro stop), in front of the caffe Bar "L’Ottagono". Look for the staff with the 'Best Of Rome' logo sign. Please be at the meeting point 30 minutes prior to the departure booking time.
• Children must be accompanied by an adult
• Your tickets will be held by the guide for collection on the day of the tour. You will be required to present this voucher. If you have purchased a discounted option you will be asked to show a photo ID in exchange for your tickets.
• A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements
• The tour reservations have strict timing. To join the tour you are required to be at the meeting point for check-in at least 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time. If you arrive late for the meeting time, it will not be possible to join the group or reschedule, unless you pay for the activity again. As per "No Show" rules you will not be entitled to a refund.
• Pets are not allowed inside the venue
• We can’t be held responsible in case of sudden closure of the Saint Peter’s Basilica or any other room inside the Vatican Museums without notice, as this is a decision of the Vatican Administration itself and we have no control over it.

Departure time can differ up to 20 minutes from your selected time. • Due to uneven surfaces, this tour is not recommended for those with walking disabilities or using a wheelchair. • Please be aware that large bags/backpacks/suitcases are not permitted in the monument/ attraction. Only very small bags are allowed. Please do not bring these items with you on the day of your tour as there are no cloakrooms at the monument. • A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums.
