   Leaning Tower of Pisa

   The leaning tower of Pisa is one of the most popular italian monuments and was built in 1174. For some problems concerning the ground under the foundations it started sinking first then leaning very early during the construction itself. Today it' s possible to climb it and enjoy a beautiful view from the top.

   The famous medieval town with its14 towers. It' s one of the U.N.E.S.C.O. sites of Italy and it' s located along the famous road "via Francigena" that was run by the pilgrims going from France to Rome in the middle age. It' s a famous area for the production of a white wine named Vernaccia di Sangimignano and for the production of a high quility saffron still produced by the original biologic process. The Duomo "La Collegiata", built in 1200, is an important example of medieval architecture and hosts, inside, very important masterpieces dating back the middle age.
