   Westerkerk

   The Westerkerk was built between 1620 and 1631 in Renaissance style according to designs by architect Hendrick de Keyser (1565-1621). He is buried in the church he designed earlier: the 'Zuiderkerk'. The building of the Westerkerk was finished and completed by his son Pieter de Keyser (1595-1676) and inaugurated on June 8, 1631. The church has a length of 58 meters and a width of 29 meters. The high nave is flanked by the two lower aisles. The three-aisled basilica has a rectangular plan with two transepts of equal dimensions. As a result, the plan for this church was given the form of two Greek crosses connected with each other.

• The ticket for your City Canal Cruise is an so called "OPEN TICKET". This means that no timeslot has been allocated and you can board any next available boat at one of the 2 docks:
• The first dock is located at Stadhouderskade 501 opposite the Hard Rock Cafe. Take tram 1, 2, 5,11 and 12 stop at Leidseplein. from there the dock is a 2 minute walk.
• The second dock is located at Stadhouderskade 550, opposite Heineken Experience. Take tram 2, 5,and 12 stop at Rijksmuseum. from there the dock is a 5 minute walk or take metro No. 52 and stop at Vijzelgracht. From there the dock is only a 2 minute walk.
• Last City Canal Cruise from Hard Rock Cafe departs at 18:00.
• Last City Canal Cruise from Heineken Experience departs at 17:15.
• You can cancel your ticket until 24 hours prior to departure. Cancellation within 24 hours is not possible.
• Please note that that Blue Boat Company is closed on the following dates: • 27th April: Kingsday • 5th August: Pride & Queer Canal Parade • 25th December: Christmas • 31st December; no cruises after 4:00PM • 1st January; until noon.

• • Please note: the day selected is the entrance day for the Maritime Museum. You can scan the barcode directly at the venue. The voucher will provide you entrance to the canal cruise as well, at any time and day. • The opening hours of the museum are between 10 AM- 5 PM. • Please make sure to be at the dock for your canal cruise at least 10 minutes prior to departure. • Blue Boat Company and Amsterdam Canal Cruises offer canal cruises daily. Seats are placed on a “first come, first serve” basis which means that you might not be able to get on board right away. If this is the case, our colleagues will inform you when the next available boat will depart. • Our ticket office at Stadhouderskade 501 opposite Hard Rock Café is open daily from 09:00 until 18:00 hours. • Our ticket office at Stadhouderskade 550 opposite Heineken Experience is open daily from 09:30 until 17:15 hours. • This is a non-refundable booking. Valid from the time you exchange your voucher, for the consecutive days selected.
