This striking suspension bridge, opened in 1966, was originally named after dictator Salazar but was renamed following the 1974 Carnation Revolution. Reminiscent of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, it shares both its International Orange color and design inspiration, built by the same American company.

Meeting point: "Doca de Alcantara, Gate 1" - in front of a cafe called "Espaço Zarco". Many drivers often think the destination is "Doca de Santo Amaro". That's a different dock. Traffic in Lisbon can be chaotic. Aim to arrive 20 minutes before the departure time to ensure we depart on schedule.
