With the most typical alleys and the prettiest corners of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Anne-Sophie Guerrier opens the doors to a neighborhood you've never really seen. After the war, the Germanopratine youth took refuge in the cellars to listen to jazz; there is all the intelligentsia of the neighborhood: Greco, Gainsbourg, Vian, Aznavour, Brel, Ferré, Barbara, Mouloudji, Cora Vaucaire, but also many American jazzmen. Anne-Sophie takes you from cellar to cabaret, where these artists started, reveals their "little addresses" and introduces you to emblematic sites of Saint-Germain-des-Prés: the church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Café de Flore, Les Deux Magots, the Pont des Arts, the Monnaie de Paris, the church of Saint-Sulpice, the Odéon... At each stage of the walk, she shares historical but also crisp anecdotes, illustrated with photographs, about the neighborhood and the lives of the singers and sings a cappella.
