2. 2

Tune in as your guide points out medieval towers and century-old estates as you wind through the heart of Chianti. Then, about an hour after departing, arrive at Fontaleoni, a family-run winery founded in 1959. Follow a sommelier into the cellar and learn the estate's evolution from mixed farming to producing some of the region's finest Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti.

Next, settle in for a traditional Tuscan lunch. Taste four estate wines as you work through a spread of appetizers, handmade pasta with tomato sauce, and cantucci biscuits dipped in sweet Vin Santo. It's unhurried, indulgent, and exactly what wine country afternoons were made for.

3. 3

After lunch, hop back in the car to head to the next vineyard estate (30-minute drive). Arrive at Poggio ai Laghi, a winery located on the plateau between two lakes. The microclimate here makes it ideal for growing Sangiovese, Merlot, and Vermentino.

Your second sommelier-led tasting includes six carefully selected wines that showcase the estate's signature elegance. Between sips, you'll sample their rich olive oil, aged balsamic vinegar, cured meats, and brushetta.
