Residing in a quiet courtyard in the Jewish Quarter, the four monoliths were uncovered entirely by accident in the 19th century. Standing nine meters (nearly 30 feet) tall, the four columns were part of a much larger temple, dedicated to the worship of Emperor Augustus.
