   The Brunelleschi Dome is the crowning glory of Florence’s Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore) and a masterpiece of Renaissance engineering. Designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, it remains the largest masonry dome ever built. Visitors can climb 463 steps to admire Vasari’s frescoes of the Last Judgment up close and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Florence from the top.
