In 1734, Pope Clement XII made an important collection of artworks and ancient sculptures accessible to the people of Rome, creating what is considered the world’s first museum, located on one of the Seven Hills of Rome. Here you can admire the famous she-wolf sculpture depicting Rome’s founders, Romulus and Remus.
