Born as a mausoleum for Emperor Hadrian, Castel Sant'Angelo became a military stronghold, papal residence, and even a prison over the years. Follow an expert guide through secret passages, imposing halls, and historic rooms, discovering the dramatic stories of emperors, popes, prisoners, and daring escapes that have shaped the destiny of Rome.

Explore elegant apartments decorated with Renaissance frescoes, admire ancient weapons and defensive structures, and discover the famous Passetto di Borgo, the secret corridor used by the popes to escape from the Vatican in times of danger. The tour concludes on the spectacular panoramic terrace: from here you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the skyline of the Eternal City, the Tiber, and St. Peter's Basilica. Whether you are a history enthusiast or a first-time visitor, Castel Sant'Angelo will offer you an unforgettable journey through time and one of the most fascinating and evocative views of the capital.
