Known for its amazing setting and massive mansions, Sintra is a cultural and historical visual treat a quick trip outside of Lisbon. Depart early from Rossio Train station and be one of the first to enter the Pena Palace and will guarantee you get to visit the interior rooms of the Palace. Built in the 19th century, the Pena was a summer home for Portuguese royalty. It is an adaptation of 16th-century monastery ruins and an imitation of a medieval fortress, and boasts spectacular views over the natural park and Lisbon.
