On this WW1 battlefield tour we visit the haunting Gallipoli battlefields, located in the Dardanelles. See the sites where more than 30,000 British and Commonwealth troops gave their lives, as our tour begins in Gallipoli town where we see the Helles Memorial. We then focus on the landings of April 1915 and see where the British troops landed on V beach. At ANZAC we see the landing beaches and visit the nearby cemeteries such as Lone Pine. This tour has two pick up options. Pick up from Canakkale Port or from Istanbul.
Meet your professional guide and depart for the Gallipoli Peninsula. Visit the landing site of the ANZAC troops on April 25, 1915. See the Beach Cemetery, where the famous soldier-poet John Simpson Kirkpatrick is buried. Stop at Ari Burnu, an important beachhead during the campaign. Visit Lone Pine Cemetery & Memorial, dedicated to Australian soldiers. Explore the trenches and tunnels used during the battle. See The Nek, where the tragic charge of the Light Horse Brigade took place. Visit the New Zealand Memorial, marking their major victory on the highest ground of Gallipoli. Arrive at the port with ample time before your cruise departure.
