The Catacombs of Rome
The Catacombs of Rome are comprised of 40 separate underground areas spread through a large vicinity across the area of Rome. To the surprise of many people, the catacombs were not only used for the Christian religion but for all residents during Ancient times going back to Etruscan times. During the Roman imperial time, it became "fashionable" to follow the earlier Etruscan traditions and bury the dead rather than continue with creminations of earlier Roman people.
