   Appian Way and Aurelian Walls

   On your tour, you'll also see the impressive Aurelian Wall, a massive ancient fortification that once protected the city of Rome. Built in the 3rd century AD by Emperor Aurelian, the wall stretches over 12 miles and was designed to defend the city from external threats. Although much of the wall has been preserved, parts of it have been integrated into modern Rome, with several gates still visible today.    As part of your tour, you'll visit the Baths of Caracalla, one of the largest and most impressive ancient bath complexes in Rome. Built between 212 and 216 AD during the reign of Emperor Caracalla, these grand baths could accommodate thousands of visitors at once. The expansive ruins reveal the luxurious scale of Roman bathhouses, complete with vast swimming pools, saunas, and beautiful mosaic floors. Though much of the structure is in ruins today, it's still easy to imagine the splendor and social importance of this public bathing complex in ancient Roman life. The Baths of Caracalla offer an incredible insight into Roman architecture and daily life.
