   De Bijenkorf

   Then you will observe Museumplein, where masterpiece-packed Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum, and Moco Museum are located. There was a wax candle factory here before, and now it is a beautiful spacious square. In winter its pond is transformed to skating area, and square is often used for public events, such as festivals and demonstrations. Its plain gray façade is marked with strange reddish-brown symbols that are said to be arcane Kabbalistic signs painted with blood.

    Skinny Bridge

    Go over the famous Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge) crossing the Amstel River. It was erected in 1969 as a copy of a 17th-century leaf bridge. Listen to the legend about the Mager sisters and their pedestrian bridge and why the place was called like that. Soak in the great views around and marvel at the bridge in the evening when it’s illuminated by thousands of bulbs.
