   The Maiden's Tower, also known as Leander's Tower, is a historical tower located on a small islet at the southern entrance of the Bosphorus strait in Istanbul, Turkey. There are several legends associated with the Maiden's Tower, one of the most popular being the story of a princess who was locked away in the tower to protect her from a prophesied snake bite. Throughout its history, the Maiden's Tower has served various purposes, including a lighthouse, a quarantine station, and a radar station. Today, it is primarily a tourist attraction, with a restaurant and café that offer panoramic views of Istanbul and the Bosphorus.
