   Bridge of Sighs

   Cross the legendary Bridge of Sighs, one of Venice's most iconic landmarks. Built in the early 17th century, this enclosed white limestone bridge connected the interrogation rooms of the Doge's Palace to the New Prisons. According to tradition, it earned its name from the final sighs of prisoners catching their last glimpse of Venice through its small stone windows before entering their cells. Today, it remains one of the city's most photographed and fascinating historical monuments.
