Afterwards we will head to the Papal Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, "the cathedral of Rome". It is the mother church of the Catholic Church and the residence of the pope as bishop of Rome. Built in the fourth century by Constantine, it is the oldest of the papal basilicas. Inside you will find the magnificent Holy Staircase (the staircase that, according to tradition, Jesus ascended to Jerusalem). The last stop will be St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, the most famous and largest of the papal basilicas. Located in the heart of Vatican City, it is one of the holiest places for Christians and a symbol of Catholicism.
