   After about a 45-minute drive from Todi, we'll arrive in Perugia.

   Overlooking the Tiber River and the rolling, green terrain of Umbria sits Perugia, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Italy.    Lake Trasimeno

   On the way from Perugia to Castiglione del Lago, we'll travel along the beautiful shores of Lake Trasimeno. The lake is not only lovely but also historic. In 217 BCE, during the Second Punic War, Hannibal crossed the Alps with his elephants to defeat the Roman army.

   After a 40-minute drive around Lake Trasimeno, we'll arrive in Castiglione del Lago.

   This Medieval hamlet is on the list of the "borghi più belli d'Italia" -- the most beautiful villages in Italy. With panoramic views of the lake and history going back to ancient times, the village has something for everyone.
