   Discover the fascinating underground world of the Mira de Aire Caves, the largest tourist cave in Portugal and one of the country’s most remarkable natural attractions. With around 11 km of known galleries, these spectacular limestone caves offer a unique journey beneath the Serra de Aire.

   The visit takes you through approximately 600 metres of underground passages, where you can admire impressive rock formations, vast chambers and natural features shaped over thousands of years. Visitors also learn about the caves’ formation, history and the development of speleology in Portugal. The experience includes descending 683 steps, with the return to the surface by elevator. The nearby Casa do Conhecimento offers further insight into the caves, geology, karst landscape and history of speleology. With more than 8 million visitors, the Mira de Aire Caves are a memorable highlight of this private day tour.

   The restaurant is part of a larger space dedicated to religious activity. Before or after your meal, you may explore the shop, offering a wide variety of religious articles and souvenirs related to Fátima and Portuguese Catholic tradition.

   The space also includes a workshop and specialist area for religious articles and liturgical vestments, providing an insight into the craftsmanship and traditions of religious celebrations. Visitors can find religious images, rosaries, devotional items and vestments used in churches and ceremonies.

   Fátima

   Discover the Sanctuary of Fátima, one of the world’s most important Catholic pilgrimage destinations and the place where the story of Fátima began in 1917. At the Cova da Iria, three young shepherds — Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta — reported seeing Our Lady for the first time on May 13, 1917. Our Lady appeared to the three children six times between May and October, asking them to return to the Cova da Iria on the 13th of each month and to pray for peace. The final apparition took place on October 13, 1917, witnessed by a large crowd. Today, the Sanctuary preserves the memory of these events and welcomes pilgrims and visitors from around the world. During your visit, you can explore the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, the Chapel of the Apparitions and the vast Sanctuary square, while discovering the history and spiritual significance of this unique place.

   Founded in 1951, the cooperative offers a fascinating introduction to the olive oil traditions of the Fátima region, combining modern production with a historic Olive Oil Museum in the original mill.

   Inside, visitors discover traditional methods and equipment and learn how olives are harvested, processed and transformed into one of Portugal’s most important agricultural products. The experience can include an olive oil tasting, allowing visitors to discover the aromas and flavours of locally produced oils. The shop also offers olive oil and regional products. Olive growing has deep roots in Fátima, with the cooperative working with local growers. The Sanctuary of Fátima itself has historic olive groves and is a member of the cooperative, and olives from the Sanctuary’s own land are delivered to the cooperative for processing.
