This 19th century building, restored from existing ruins by an English merchant by the name of Francis Cook, is presently a sublime monument showing clear oriental and medieval influences. It appears briefly in the film "The Promise" released in 2017. This palace also boasts one of the most beautiful and complete botanical gardens in Portugal.    Pena National Palace

   The next stop is the Pena Palace where you can admire a mix of architectural styles in the interior as well as in the exterior. The Pena Palace is one of the best examples of Romanticism from the 19th century. Make sure to have your camera ready to capture the fantastic landscape surrounding the Palace.
