Über diese Aktivität

This food and wine tour offers you the unique opportunity to experience Venice like a local and savor authentic Venetian finger food, the famous "cicchetti." This tour passes through the Dorsoduro and Cannareggio districts, the most authentic and less touristy parts of the city, home to some of the most famous "bacari", the traditional Venetian taverns. Your local guide will introduce you to 3 of the most authentic bacari, frequented by Venetians. At each bacaro, you'll have the opportunity to taste 2 famous Venetian "cicchetti" paired with 1 glass of local wine. The tour concludes with a visit to the historic Rialto Market, founded over 1,000 years ago.

        he Rialto Market

he Rialto Market has been the commercial heart of Venice for over 900 years. As early as the 11th century, fish, spices, fruit, and vegetables from all over the known world were traded here. Rialto was the economic center of the Serenissima, and the market was its driving force

      2. Rialto Bridge

        The Rialto Bridge

The Rialto Bridge is the oldest of the four bridges spanning the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. Connecting the sestieri of San Marco and San Polo, it has been rebuilt several times since its first construction as a pontoon bridge in 1173, and is now a significant tourist attraction in the city. The present stone bridge is a single span designed by Antonio da Ponte. Construction began in 1588 and was completed in 1591. It is similar to the wooden bridge it succeeded. Two ramps lead up to a central portico. On either side of the portico, the covered ramps carry rows of shops. The engineering of the bridge was considered so audacious that architect Vincenzo Scamozzi predicted future ruin.

      3. San Polo

The district has been the site of Venice's main market since 1097, and connected to the eastern bank of the Grande Canal by the Rialto bridge since the thirteenth century. The western part of the quarter is now known for its churches, while the eastern part, sometimes just called the Rialto, is known for its palaces and smaller houses.
