Known for its amazing setting and massive mansions, Sintra is a cultural and historical visual treat a quick trip outside of Lisbon. Depart early from Rossio Train station and be one of the first to enter the Pena Palace and will guarantee you get to visit the interior rooms of the Palace. Built in the 19th century, the Pena was a summer home for Portuguese royalty. It is an adaptation of 16th-century monastery ruins and an imitation of a medieval fortress, and boasts spectacular views over the natural park and Lisbon. Enjoy a 30-minute walk through the gardens to see our favourite section: the valley of the lakes. Then hop aboard an electric TukTuk where you can stay in Sintra for lunch and explore the afternoon at your own pace or head back to Lisbon with your tour guide.
