With a length of approximately 2 kilometres, this famous avenue runs from Place de la Concorde to the majestic Arc de Triomphe.

   One of the world's best-known commemorative monuments! Dating from the 18th century, the construction of The Arc de Triomphe started in 1806 in the time of Napoleon, with the aim to honour the French army. The Arc de Triomphe stands 49.5 m (162 ft) tall, 45 m (150 ft) wide and 22 m (72 ft) deep.
