Lisbon Cathedral
The Sé de Lisboa (Igreja de Santa Maria Maior)
The Sé de Lisboa (Igreja de Santa Maria Maior) is the oldest church in the Portuguese capital and one of the most iconic tourist stops at the entrance of the Alfama neighborhood. Built in the 12th century after the reconquest of the city by D. Afonso Henriques, the Sé has the appearance of an imposing medieval fortress, with its two sinera towers and central rosacea. Over the centuries it survived several earthquakes, harmoniously combining Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles. It is a must-see spot, where the famous Electro 28 passes frequently.
