Montserrat, a Mountain, a Monastery, a Sanctuary Montserrat is a spectacular mountain from a geological point of view, it's also a holy mountain and houses both, a Benedictine Monastery celebrating 1000 years since its fundation, and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montserrat. You will explore the Abbey of Montserrat, you will have the chance to venerate "La Moreneta" the black Madonna, you will have time to do an easy hike to admire the amazing views from St Michael's cross or to take the funicular that takes you to the top of the mountain. If you prefer focusing on art, you can visit the Art Museum. Up in the mountain by Cable Car and return by Rack railway train. If you take the van/bus option, you'll still be going up by Cable Car unless you prefer not to.
