   Your visit will continue in the Forum , the heart of Ancient Rome. All of Roman life could be found in this bustling marketplace: commerce and trade, political rallies, military parades. From the royal age until the advent of the medieval age, the Forum Valley was the scene of events and the seat of institutions of such importance that it determined the historical course of Western civilization on several occasions, and had a preponderant influence on the political, legal, cultural and philosophical foundations of Western thought.

   Finally we will climb the Palatine Hill where legend

   Finally we will climb the Palatine Hill where legend has it that Rome had its origins. In fact, recent excavations have shown that people lived there as early as about 1000 BC. It was a village of a few hectares, surrounded by marshes, from which it was possible to control the course of the Tiber. From this first urban agglomeration the so-called "square Rome" was formed, so called from the roughly rhomboidal shape of the hilltop on which it was located.
