   You’ll have about an hour of free time to explore at your own pace. Known as the “Town of Fine Towers,” San Gimignano once boasted more than 70 towers in the Middle Ages. Today, its well-preserved walls, cobbled lanes, and breathtaking skyline make it feel like an open-air museum — a true step back in time. As you wander, discover the town’s proud traditions: its prized saffron and the celebrated “Golden Ham.” Don’t miss the chance to stop in the main square and taste “the best gelato in the world” at the famous "Gelateria Dondoli", a sweet highlight of any visit.
