It served as the main administrative center and residence of the Ottoman sultans, replacing Topkapı Palace for daily operations. The palace is famous for its European-style architecture, grand ceremonial halls, crystal chandeliers, and the largest collection of Bohemian crystal in the world. Today, it is a museum and a major tourist attraction, showcasing Ottoman luxury and history.
