The Nemrud mountain stands in Southeastern Turkey. It is a 7.000 feet tall memorial for Kings and Gods of the ancient world; its summit is decorated with several giant statues erected in 62 BC by King Antiochus I Theos of Commagene.
The statues flank the tomb sanctuary. They are built after the images, apart from the King himself, lions, eagles, and various ancient gods, such as Hercules - Vahagn, Zeus-Aramaz, or Oromasdes (associated with the Iranic god Ahura Mazda), Tyche, and Apollo-Mithras.
