Le Musée national étrusque de Villa Giulia est considéré comme le musée italien le plus représentatif de la civilisation étrusque et il est situé au sein de Villa Giulia, la résidence de banlieue du pape Jules III (1550-55), conçue par Vignola et réalisée avec la participation d'Ammannati et Vasari. En 1889, la villa était destinée à être le musée des antiquités pré-romaines du Latium. Deux ailes ont été ajoutées entre 1912 et 1923. Des sections spécifiques sont également consacrées à l'épigraphie étrusque, à l'histoire du Musée et au complexe architectonique de Valle Giulia. Les expositions de: - l'Apollon de Veio (VIe siècle avant JC) - le sarcophage des époux de Cerveteri (VIe siècle avant JC) - le haut-relief et les fines feuilles dorées de Pyrgi (Ve siècle avant JC) - l'Apollo dello Scasato de Falerii (IVe siècle avant JC) - le Centaure de Vulci (VIe siècle avant JC) - le soi-disant Cista Ficoroni de Palestrina (IVe siècle avant JC).
In 1889 the villa was destined to be the Museum of the pre-Roman Antiquities of Latium. Two wings were added between 1912 and 1923. Specific sections are also dedicated to Etruscan epigraphy, to the history of the Museum and to the architectonic complex of Valle Giulia. Of particular interest are the exhibits of the Apollo from Veio (sixth century BC), the Sarcophagus of the Spouses from Cerveteri (sixth century BC), the high relief and the golden thin sheets from Pyrgi (fifth century BC), the Apollo dello Scasato from Falerii (fourth century BC), the Centaur from Vulci (sixth century BC) and the so-called Cista Ficoroni from Palestrina (fourth century BC).
