    The Baths of Caracalla (Italian: Terme di Caracalla) in Rome, Italy, were the city's second largest Roman public baths, or thermae, after the Baths of Diocletian. The baths were likely built between AD 212 (or 211) and 216/217, during the reigns of emperors Septimius Severus and Caracalla.[2] They were in operation until the 530s and then fell into disuse and ruin.

    Both during and since their operation as baths, they served as inspiration for many other notable buildings, ancient and modern, such as the Baths of Diocletian, the Basilica of Maxentius, the original Pennsylvania Station in New York City, Chicago Union Station and the Senate of Canada Building. Artworks recovered from the ruins include famous sculptures such as the Farnese Bull and the Farnese Hercules.

• Due to a strict entrance time, there is a mandatory meeting time 15 min before the tour starting time. Be aware that late arrivals cannot join the tour and won't be entitled to get a refund as per standard procedure. All visitors MUST have a photo ID for the Colosseum security check! Security will prevent you from entering the monument if you fail to provide a valid ID card or Passport. Please be advised that the Colosseum’s capacity regulations and security may delay the tour departure, especially on national holidays and events. Please expect to wait 20-30 minutes to clear security. Actual departure time can differ up to 20 minutes from the one selected. Meeting Point Directions: The meeting point for the Colossseum Palatine Hill and Roman Forum tour is at Piazza di San Clemente, in front of the Basilica's entrance. The guide will have a sign with "Tour in the City" on it.
