   Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute

   The dome of the Basilica della Salute has characterized the scenario of St Mark's basin in Venice for more than three hundred years, an authoritative testimony of the high spirituality that marked the 17th century in Venice. It was wanted by the Serenissima as a prayer and as thanksgiving to the Virgin Mother of God to preserve the city of Venice from the terrible plague of the 17th century.

   As the phoenix rises from its ashes, so it was for this fantastic theatre risen twice from the flames and water. It has been and is home to numerous premieres of operas by Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi, Stravinsky, and many others.

• • Please arrive at the meeting point at least 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE DEPARTURE TIME indicated. • At the tour departure point you will meet a TURIVE staff member who will check your vouchers and give information to do the tour. • COLLECTIVE TOUR (there might be other participants going on the tour with you). • NO EXPLANATIONS during the tour. • The tour might be suspended in case of BAD WEATHER. In such cases you are required to go to the departure point in order to know whether the tour takes place or not and any alternative ways to use the service. • Due to the particular morphological structure of Venice, we cannot guarantee that people with walking difficulties and wheelchair users could access the whole tour. • No credit or refunds will be given in the case of a NO SHOW (if you don't show up at the meeting point at the time indicated on your voucher). Therefore we advise you to locate in advance the departure point and how to get there in order to avoid being late or any inconveniences that will prevent you from being at the meeting point in time for the departure.
