The gondola is yours alone — no sharing with strangers. Your gondolier casts off from Riva degli Schiavoni, beside St Mark's, and takes you onto the Grand Canal, gliding past the Gothic and Byzantine palace facades that can only be seen properly from the water. Then he turns into the narrow side canals, under low stone bridges and along quiet walls where Venice is still just a working city. Available by day or after dark, when the monuments are lit and the reflections turn gold. Up to five people share the boat, so it works equally well for a couple, a proposal or a family.

      Glide along the Grand Canal in your own gondola, passing the Gothic and Byzantine facades of the palaces that line Venice’s main waterway, then slip into the quieter side canals away from the crowds before returning to the starting point.

    Meet at the Alilaguna ticket office on Riva degli Schiavoni, in front of the Royal Gardens (Giardini Reali), San Marco. Arrive 20 minutes early and show your voucher there to receive your boarding ticket. Look for the Alilaguna sign by the water.

    • If your chosen time is unavailable you will be moved to the next available slot on the same day.
    • Mobile or paper ticket accepted
    • One per booking
    • Arrive 20 minutes before departure at the Alilaguna ticket office on Riva degli Schiavoni, in front of the Royal Gardens (Giardini Reali), San Marco, and show your Viator voucher to receive your boarding ticket. Travellers who arrive late or miss the meeting point cannot join and are not refunded.
