Fu modificato e ampliato nel corso degli anni e oggi comprende venti sale disposte su due piani, che ospitano capolavori assoluti di vari artisti tra cui Bernini e Caravaggio. Dal museo, uscita nel Parco di villa Borghese, il quinto parco pubblico più grande di Roma. Si estende per circa 80 ettari, che comprende aree verdi di diverse tipologie, dal giardino Italiano alle grandi aree in stile Inglese, edifici, piccoli edifici, fontane e laghetti. Il tour termina al Pincio; alla sua sommità sorge il più antico giardino pubblico di Roma, progettato da Giuseppe Valadier. Dalla sua terrazza panoramica, affacciata sulla sottostante Piazza del Popolo, si gode di una delle viste più meravigliose della Città Eterna.
Housed in the Villa Borghese Park, the Galleria Borghese houses a substantial part of the Borghese Collection of paintings, sculpture and antiquities, begun by Cardinal Scipione Borghese. It was modified and extended down the years, eventually being sold to the Italian government in 1902, along with the surrounding gardens and parkland. Today the Galleria Borghese includes twenty rooms across two floors and houses absolute masterpieces by various artists including Bernini and Caravaggio.

Villa Borghese is a large city park in the city of Rome that includes green areas of different types, from the Italian garden to the large English-style areas, buildings, small buildings, fountains and ponds. It is the fifth largest public park in Rome, about 80 hectares, and houses the art collection of the Galleria Borghese.
