    Itinerario

    1. Circus Maximus

      This is our starting point, in case you did not choose the hotel pick-up option. The largest stadium of the Roman era, of which only a few remains are visible today.

    2. Shortly after the beginning of the Appian Way, we will come across the tomb of the Scipios, perhaps the most ancient and prestigious Roman family.

    3. Baths of Caracalla

      Driving along the so-called “archaeological walk”, we will encounter on the right the enormous complex of the Baths of Caracalla.

    4. After passing the Baths of Caracalla, the Via Appia Antica begins, the most famous Roman road.

    5. After passing the tomb of the Scipios, we will pass under the Arch of Drusus, an imposing monument from the Roman era.

    6. Catacombs of Rome

      ( OPTIONAL ) Arrived at the catacombs we will be greeted by a lush and unexpected nature, olive trees, roads with cypresses and green meadows, it will seem to be in Tuscany! Here if you wish you can visit the inside of the Catacombs, the visit lasts about 45 minutes and is managed by Vatican guides, it is a visit for small groups. The cost of the ticket is included in the price if you choose the option to visit the catacombs

    7. Appian Way and Aurelian Walls

      After seeing the footprint of Jesus inside St Sebastian, we will visit this iconic church, which houses a precious copy of Jesus’ footprint.

    8. The symbol of the Via Appia Antica, its most important and majestic monument. First mausoleum, then transformed by the Caetani family into Castrum. The visit from the outside is provided, those who wish can enter independently to visit the mausoleum, upon payment of the ticket.

    9. Appian Way and Aurelian Walls

      A few meters after the Arch of Drusus, we find one of the most famous access gates of Rome, part of the imposing Aurelian walls, which here we can admire in one of the most beautiful parts.

    10. Important Roman basilica, one of the 7 that traditionally pilgrims visit during the jubilee. Built over the catacombs of San Sebastiano, it houses the last sculpture by Bernini

    11. Aqueduct Park

      Parco degli Acquedotti preserves some of the most impressive ancient Roman aqueducts, including the monumental arches of the Aqua Claudia and Aqua Felix.
