Your driver will meet you at your pick up place and then transfer to the airport for your flight from Istanbul to Denizli. Upon arrival Denizli Cardak airport, your tour guide and another driver will meet you at the exit gate of the arrival terminal, and then you will start today’s semi-private guided tour.

      The old village of Doganbey, formerly known as Domatia, was inhabited by Greeks until the 1924 population exchange. Following this, the village was settled by Turks but was eventually abandoned after some time. Today, the village serves as an open-air museum, showcasing exquisite examples of both Turkish and Greek architecture and reflecting the legacy of past civilizations. It features several original buildings, including the Information and Visitor Center, as well as a chapel and a church.

Formerly known as Venessa, the ancient city of Avanos overlooks the Kızılırmak (Red River), the longest river in Turkey, which separates Avanos from the rest of Cappadocia. A notable historical feature of Avanos, still prominent today, is its earthenware pottery production, which remains a key economic activity in the town. The ceramic industry in this area, with its numerous pottery workshops, dates back to the Hittites, and the clay sourced from the red silt of the Kızılırmak has been used for centuries.
