This is not the kind of walking tour where you simply follow a guide from one monument to another. In Alfama, the city's stories come alive around you. Your journey begins in the heart of Lisbon at Praça dos Restauradores. From there, your local guide will lead you through some of the city's most fascinating landmarks, starting with Rossio Square, before taking you into the winding streets of Alfama. As you explore, your guide will bring Lisbon's history to life through fascinating stories about the city's past, its people, traditions and legends. You'll visit the area around the Sé Cathedral, hear the story of Saint Anthony, explore the maze-like streets of Alfama and learn about the neighbourhood's connection to Fado and the Portuguese idea of saudade. And because exploring Lisbon works up an appetite, you'll also enjoy a traditional Pastel de Nata included in your experience. Join the trail and discover the secrets Alfama has to tell.
