At the request of the Brotherhood of Clergy in 1753, Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni presented the project for a bell tower. The works began in 1754 and in July 1763, with the placement of the iron cross at the top and the image of São Paulo in the niche above the door, its construction was finally completed. Baroque in style, the Clérigos Tower is undoubtedly the ex-libris of the city and an excellent viewpoint. The origins of the Lello Bookstore date back to 1881, when the brothers José and António Lello opened in Porto an establishment dedicated to the commerce and publishing of books.
