Take the train from Florence and reach Bologna in less than an hour, arriving in a vibrant and authentic city. Begin your visit in the historic heart, between Piazza Maggiore and Piazza del Nettuno, where you’ll admire the Basilica di San Petronio and the Fountain of Neptune. If time allows, step inside Palazzo d’Accursio, today’s City Hall, full of frescoed rooms and artworks. Nearby stands the Archiginnasio, the ancient seat of the University of Bologna. Walk through its halls with noble coats of arms and visit the Anatomical Theatre, a wooden room where early anatomy lessons were held. Continue toward the Two Towers, Garisenda and Asinelli, medieval symbols of the city, still unmissable even while closed. Along the way, join a cooking experience to discover traditional Bolognese recipes. Explore the Quadrilatero market and stroll along Via Rizzoli. If time allows, peek at the Canale delle Moline through the famous “Finestrella,” a hidden corner revealing Bologna’s unexpected side.

    1. Bologna is one of Italy’s most captivating cities, blending history, culture, and vibrant daily life. Its historic center, among the largest and best preserved in Europe, features medieval towers, Renaissance palaces, and over 40 kilometers of porticoes, including the Portico di San Luca with panoramic views.

      “La Grassa” celebrates Bologna’s culinary tradition, home to iconic dishes like tagliatelle al ragù, tortellini in brodo, and mortadella, best enjoyed in markets such as the Quadrilatero. “La Rossa” recalls the terracotta rooftops and the city’s progressive spirit, visible from the Asinelli Tower. A UNESCO Creative City of Music, Bologna offers museums, festivals, and a lively atmosphere where tradition and modern life coexist.
