Enjoy a relaxing and fascinating day trip to Claude Monet's beautiful country house and gardens at Giverny, just an hour outside Paris. Learn all about Monet's fascinating and unusual life, his paintings and his beloved garden as you explore his eccentric house with its brightly coloured furnishings (a bright yellow dining room, a bright blue tiled kitchen) and his famous gardens - his pride and joy - that feature in so much of his art. Wander into the enchanting water lily garden, inspired by his collection of over 200 Japanese prints, and stand on the famous green Japanese bridge. Walk the orderly rows of irises and dahlia and an abundance of summer flowers in the Clos Normand, and hear about Monet's two obsessions: gardening and painting. Afterwards, explore the picturesque village of Giverny, with its own lovely gardens, many boutiques and galleries, including the Museum of Impressionism and walk to the Church to see where Monet is buried alongside his wife and family.
