We will walk along the Via Appia Antica, also called Regina Viarum, the oldest and most famous street of the Roman roads, to visit one of the symbolic monuments: the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella. The Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella rises just beyond the Massenzio complex and is a funerary monument built in the years between 30 and 20 BC. for a Roman noblewoman, Cecilia Metella. The imposing and elegant monument recalls that of Augustus himself.
