      23. Commerce Square

        The commerce square was the center of commercial life in the city of Lisbon. Where ships from the Age of the Discoveries used to dock fulfilled with spices, silks and slaves that would be then commercialized to local retailers. It was also where the national palace was located before its destruction in 1755, caused by the immense earthquake that hit Lisbon.

      24. Commerce Square

        We can find the equestrian statue of King Joseph the first at the center of the commerce square. This statue represents victory over the 1755 earthquake. On the statue itself we are also able to view a small bronze bust o his henchman - the Marquis of Pombal - one of the most significant figures of the country.

      25. Arco do Triunfo

        The triumphal arch is located at the end o Augusta Street, right at the entrance to the Commerce Square. This arch is also a symbol of victory over the devastating 1755 earthquake. In it we can also see some of the most illustrious figures in Portuguese history.

        To conclude, the dropoff point will be at Time Out Market. During the day, part of it is known for being a farmers market, and the other part for being a food court. During the evening, only the food court is operational. Nevertheless, the perfect place to conclude, as you can indulge in portuguese gastronomy, wether its inside the Time Out Market or outside it, where you have restaurants such as "Sala de Corte" or "Brilhante", which are high-end incredible restaurants.
