   Meet your guide outside San Giacomo di Rialto, one of Venice's oldest churches and a fitting starting point for a tour built around the market next door. Take a look at its clock tower before the journey begins.

   Your first stop will be a family-run bacaro for a tramezzino cut to order and a spritz poured your way, a routine locals here have followed for generations.

   Browse the stalls of a market that has kept Venetian kitchens stocked for generations, fish laid out on ice, vegetables piled high, vendors calling out the day's prices.

   Note: Rialto Market closes at 1pm. However, evening tours still walk through the market and see where the stalls set up each morning.

4. 4

   Rialto Bridge

   Cross the Rialto Bridge and pause for one of the best views: the Grand Canal stretching out below, gondolas cutting through the water, palazzos lining both banks.

   Watch a Venetian classic, fried mozzarella, right out of the fryer in an historical eatery. Experience the delicious goodness with record-breaking cheese-pulls!
