La bendición Sposi Novelli es una bendición especial dada por el Papa a las parejas de recién casados. Se cree que la costumbre comenzó durante el reinado del Papa Pío XII. Las parejas de recién casados (sposi novelli) casadas en la Iglesia Católica que deseen asistir a una audiencia del miércoles del Santo Padre a menudo pueden sentarse en una sección especial de la Audiencia. Para calificar, las parejas deben casarse dentro de los 2 meses posteriores a la audiencia a la que desean asistir y llevar consigo una copia del Certificado de Matrimonio Sacramental firmado por el sacerdote o diácono que celebró la boda. Para poder sentarse en la sección de sposi novelli, la pareja debe usar su atuendo de boda (o algo similar). También puedes usar un atuendo de boda tradicional de tu cultura. El Santo Padre os bendecirá para una vida conyugal feliz cuando dé su bendición general al final de la audiencia papal. Ocasionalmente, algunas parejas también tienen la oportunidad de saludar personalmente al Santo Padre después de la Audiencia.
The Sposi Novelli blessing
The Sposi Novelli blessing is a special blessing given by the Pope to newlywed couples. The custom is believed to have started during the reign of Pope Pius XII. Newlywed couples (sposi novelli) married in the Catholic Church who would like to attend a Wednesday audience of the Holy Father may often sit in a special section at the Audience. To qualify, couples should be married within 2 months of the audience they wish to attend and carry with them a copy of the Sacramental Marriage Certificate signed by the priest or deacon who celebrated the wedding. To be permitted to sit in the sposi novelli section, the couple needs to wear their wedding attire (or something similar). You can also wear a traditional wedding attire from your cuture. The Holy Father will bless you for a happy wedded life when he gives his general blessing at the conclusion of the Papal audience. Occasionally, some couples also have the opportunity to greet the Holy Father personally after the Audience.
